El Dorado County's Board of Supervisors honored four 2026 Volunteers of the Year for their work in county parks Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The County of El Dorado announced the honorees on its official X account the following day. The Parks and Recreation Commission selected the awardees by district: Don Rose was listed as the Districts 1–4 awardee, Eileen Crim received the District 2 award, Mica Raas and Blake Ingram of Mother Lode Trail Stewardship earned the District 3 honor, and Shannon Chard was recognized for District 4.

Parks Manager Zachary Perras, Commission Vice-Chair Torin Dunnavant and Commission Chair Donna Mullens Becker joined the volunteers for the recognition. The commission voted at its July 16 meeting to select one volunteer per district, with Dunnavant making the motion and Commissioner Wayne Lowery seconding it.

Mother Lode Trail Stewardship is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 2020 that works to create, preserve and promote trails along El Dorado County's western slope, from Echo Summit to El Dorado Hills, according to its website.
