Elf The Musical lands at the Harris Center for the Arts on Wednesday, Nov. 4, for a five-day run that pairs Broadway with a toy drive, family activities and local food vendors.

The nationally touring production, based on the acclaimed 2024 Broadway production, runs eight performances through Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Folsom Lake College venue, Bill Sullivan of the Folsom Times reported. It is part of the Harris Center's 2026-27 Broadway season.

The musical tells the story of Buddy, a young orphan raised among Santa's elves at the North Pole who heads to New York City to find his birth father.

Pre-show activities at three performances

The Harris Center is hosting "Buddy's Holiday Fun" before three shows: the Wednesday, Nov. 4, opening at 7:30 p.m.; the Friday, Nov. 6, matinee at 2 p.m.; and the Sunday, Nov. 8, morning show at 10 a.m.

The lobby will open 90 minutes before curtain on those dates.

Kids can write letters to Santa, which the Harris Center will arrange to mail to the North Pole. Guests can also decorate snowflakes and post messages on a Holiday Thoughts Wall.

Toy drive with Folsom Police Department

The Harris Center has partnered with the Folsom Police Department's annual holiday toy drive for the entire run. Guests attending any of the eight performances are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy.

Donors will be entered into a drawing for tickets to a holiday performance at the Harris Center, according to the Folsom Times.

Local treats in the lobby

Soul Spark Coffee will serve show-themed organic drinks throughout the engagement, including Buddy's Christmas Cocoa, the Syrupy Sweet Latte and Elf's Fuel. Organic cookies from Ritual Cookies will also be available.
