The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed assistant registrar Rena Russell to lead the county's elections office, effective Oct. 31, at a monthly salary of $11,464.27.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed SB 795 on Sept. 19, removing a regulatory bottleneck that blocked E15 fuel sales in California, with researchers estimating savings of up to 20 cents per gallon. Folsom-area drivers will have to wait for local stations to upgrade equipment before seeing cheaper prices at the pump.
