CASA El Dorado will host its Shine Bright Gala on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills. The event raises money for volunteer advocates who represent foster children in court.
The gala runs from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 5005 Serrano Parkway, according to the El Dorado Community Foundation event listing. Around Here Magazine lists tickets at $150 per person. Each ticket includes a three-course meal, two drink tickets and valet parking.
The evening features live and silent auctions, the CASA El Dorado Champions for Children Awards, stories from CASA youth and advocates, and dancing. Formal attire is requested, cocktail or better. Denim is not permitted at Serrano Country Club.
CASA El Dorado, a Placerville-based nonprofit founded in 1992, trains Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). These are community volunteers appointed by a juvenile court judge to work one-on-one with children in the foster care and juvenile justice systems, according to the organization's website.
The organization states more than 400 children are served in El Dorado County's foster care system each year, with more than 23 on a wait list for an advocate. Sponsorship and in-kind silent auction donation opportunities are available through the CASA El Dorado event page.
