Some of Northern California's top high school marching bands will compete at Folsom High School on Saturday, Nov. 7, for the 23rd annual Folsom Fall Festival.

The competition runs 7 to 10 p.m. at Prairie City Stadium, 1655 Iron Point Road, according to Folsom Times. Admission is $15 for general admission and $10 for students, military personnel and seniors ages 60 and older. Children ages 4 and younger get in free.

The Folsom High School Marching Band and Color Guard hosts the event alongside the Folsom High School Music Boosters, a nonprofit that has supported the school's music programs for more than two decades. The festival is expected to draw hundreds of spectators to watch competing bands perform field shows that combine live music, formations and choreographed color guard routines.

The host Bulldogs enter the festival on a strong run. Folsom High's marching band earned Music Sweepstakes honors at festivals in Del Oro, Napa and Fairfield this season, Folsom Times reported. The band also picked up High Brass honors at every competition it entered.

That record sets the stage for a hometown debut.

The ensemble plans to perform its new field show for the Prairie City Stadium crowd, bringing a production the students have rehearsed throughout the fall to the same field where they practice. The title and theme of the show have not been announced.

The Music Boosters, a volunteer nonprofit, organize the festival each year and fund the school's music programs through events, fundraising and community performances.

The specific high school bands competing alongside Folsom have not been announced publicly. More information about the festival and Folsom High's music programs is available at folsommusic.org.
