The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Division has identified all three people killed in the Saturday, Sept. 12, Tesla crash on Serrano Parkway in El Dorado Hills.

The victims are Charles Anthony Cameron, 30, of Sacramento; Alejandra Mendoza, 28, of Sacramento; and Kailauna Viola Mills, 28, of Roseville, according to CBS Sacramento, which first reported the identifications.

The California Highway Patrol said a 2024 Tesla Model Y left westbound Serrano Parkway west of Terracina Drive at about 10:40 p.m. Sept. 12, struck a tree and became fully engulfed in flames. Cameron, a passenger, was ejected and died at the scene. Two other occupants, identified as Mendoza and Mills, were found dead inside the vehicle after firefighters put out the blaze, the CHP said.

A fourth occupant, a 28-year-old Sacramento woman, escaped the vehicle with help from bystanders and was taken to an area hospital with major injuries, according to the Folsom Times. Her identity and current condition have not been released.

The CHP has not publicly identified which occupant was driving. The crash cause remains under investigation.

El Dorado Hills Fire Chief Michael Lilienthal said in a Sunday, Sept. 13, statement that crews responded with multiple fire, rescue and emergency medical resources. He said the Tesla's lithium-ion battery was significantly damaged in the collision and fire, and that firefighters took extra precautions because of hazards from the high-voltage battery components, according to Village Life.

Richard Mills, Kailauna Mills' uncle, spoke on behalf of the family to CBS Sacramento on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Mills, known as "Lala" by her family, was engaged and set to be married in April 2027. She had been living in Arizona and was visiting the Sacramento area to see family at the time of the crash, her uncle said.

"She had the most golden heart," Richard Mills said. "She would give you her last dollar. She would make sure you were fed before anyone else."

A growing memorial has formed on Serrano Parkway at the crash site. Westbound Serrano Parkway was closed after the crash until about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.
