Vista del Lago quarterback Jacoby More threw for 354 yards and four touchdowns Friday, Sept. 11, leading the Eagles to a 42-23 win over Reed.
The victory gave the Folsom school its first win of the 2026 season after an 0-2 start.
More, a junior, picked apart Reed's secondary from the opening 7 p.m. kickoff, Gold Mountain California News reported. The Eagles' offense also rushed for 117 combined yards. Gavin Brainerd, Cael Rens, Luke Roberts and Kyron Gulley were credited as contributors in the win.
The Eagles entered the game having lost to Granite Bay 47-16 on Aug. 28 and to Antelope 33-27 on Saturday, Sept. 5. Vista del Lago had been outscored 80-43 through those two contests, making the 42-point outburst against Reed a sharp reversal.
Vista del Lago's defense struggled against the run but limited Reed's passing attack, according to Gold Mountain California News. The unit allowed 16 first-half points, then held Reed to just seven after halftime. That second-half adjustment kept the Eagles comfortably ahead after building their lead.
More's performance against Reed continued a strong start to his junior campaign. He threw for 218 yards in the season-opening loss to Granite Bay and 340 yards in the Antelope game, according to MaxPreps. His three-game total now sits above 900 passing yards through three weeks of the season.
Vista del Lago competes in the Sac-Joaquin Section, Division III. Head coach M. Struebing's squad moves to 1-2 and enters a bye week before returning to action.
The Eagles' next game is Friday, Sept. 25, at Bella Vista with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
