Cameron Park's Great Trunk or Treat returns Friday, Oct. 16, with candy, costumes, a heated pool plunge and a scary movie for teens.
The Cameron Park Community Services District is hosting the Halloween event from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at its campus and pool, 2502 Country Club Dr., according to the district's event page. The trunk-or-treat walk through decorated car trunks is open to children ages 13 and under.
A Dessert & Sweets Walk begins at 5:30 p.m. The treats are donated by community partners across El Dorado County and surrounding areas. The district noted the sweets last only until they run out.
The Witchy Costume Contest starts at 6 p.m. Three winners will take home prize baskets filled with what the district called mysterious and spooky prizes.
At 7 p.m., the Pumpkin King Plunge closes out the evening. Registered participants will jump into the district's heated outdoor pool. The district said participants should bring a swimsuit and towel, adding that while the pool is heated, outdoor weather is not guaranteed. Registration details had not been posted as of Monday, Oct. 12.
A separate scary-movie screening for ages 14 and up begins at 6 p.m. The district had not announced the film title or admission fee as of Oct. 12.
Style Magazine also listed the event in its October roundup, describing it as featuring trunk-or-treating, a costume contest, a scary movie and the pool plunge in the district's heated pool.
The district promoted the event on its Facebook page, calling it a fun-filled Halloween night. The district said additional details, including pool plunge registration information, will be posted at cameronpark.org.
