More than 40 Sierra Foothills wineries will pour at the Palladio in Folsom on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the returning Foothill Wine Fest.

Choose Folsom, the event's presenter, has themed this year's festival "Better Together," according to the Folsom Times. Couples tickets are $110 for two guests. The festival is open to guests 21 and older.

VIP ticket holders can enter at 2 p.m. General admission begins at 3 p.m., and the festival runs until 6 p.m.

Wineries from El Dorado and Amador counties make up the lineup, according to MyFolsom.com. Amador County producers are known for Zinfandel and Barbera, while El Dorado County wineries draw on varied elevations to grow a wider range of varietals. The roster also includes producers working with Rhône-style reds, crisp whites and rosés, MyFolsom.com reported.

The appeal is convenience. Instead of mapping a daylong drive through the foothills, festivalgoers can sample dozens of wineries in one spot, moving from pour to pour at their own pace, the Folsom Times reported. Guests can meet the winemakers behind the labels and, according to MyFolsom.com, try small-production wines that are not typically stocked in grocery stores.

Culinary partners will serve food throughout the afternoon, and live entertainment will accompany the tastings. Admission covers access to all participating wineries, food offerings and entertainment.

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable, according to the official event page. Tickets and full details are available at FoothillWineFest.com.
