The opening of a Cracker Barrel in Sacramento has been one of the most eagerly anticipated restaurant openings in many years. The southern based chain opened up its first store in Northern California today. The chain has one other California location, that being in Victorville, east of Los Angeles. For years local residents have asked for a Cracker Barrel to come to the area. The company has been slowly expanding westward
It was nearly two years ago that it was announced Sacramento would get a Cracker Barrel Store, at 1000 Howe Ave. The location was home to a Cantonese Buffet previously. The store was originally planned to open in early summer, but weather caused delays in construction this spring. Another area store is planned for Rocklin, but no date has been set yet
If you have never been to a Cracker Barrel, the restaurant is known it’s front porch setting with rocking chairs, as well as for serving breakfast all day. Inside is more than just a restaurant, it is also a country store where customers can purchase merchandise. The chain has 654 locations on 45 states.
