Investigating a stolen vehicle led Folsom police to not just recovering that vehicle but also a second vehicle and possession of narcotics.
On Wednesday, March 8th, Folsom Police Detectives led by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) conducted a vehicle theft investigation that began in Folsom and ended with five people arrested in Sacramento.
The SIU Detectives tracked a vehicle that was stolen from Folsom to a house in Sacramento. The detectives kept investigating, which led them to much more than the recovery of stolen vehicle. Officer Pfingsten, who was assigned to assist SIU in the investigation, said, “This was a great example of how the investigation of one crime can lead to the discovery of many more crimes and contraband. We went there looking for one stolen car and ended up with two stolen cars, five people arrested, heroin, Xanax pills, drug paraphernalia, and several arrest warrants.”
Yiesha Nelson, 25 from Sacramento, was arrested for vehicle theft, receiving a stolen vehicle, and embezzlement. Vitaliy Blyshchyk, 20 from Sacramento, was arrested for three drug related charges. Robert Williams, 28 from Sacramento, was arrested for possession of drugs for sale. Yanik Kryshtal, 26 from Sacramento, was arrested for an outstanding $250,000 felony warrant for possession of drugs for sale and misdemeanor traffic warrant. Barry Vierra, 52 from Redding, was arrested for receiving a stolen vehicle a probation violation and an outstanding no-bail felony warrant.
All five people were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail Wednesday evening.
