Folsom police officers arrested five people earlier today for stealing over $77,000 in jewelry from a store in the 700 block of Sutter Street. According to police, the merchant said she was distracted by several women while other women stole the jewelry. Once she noticed the missing jewelry, she immediately called police.
The responding officer arrived, two of the women tried to run away. Officers from another law enforcement officers from another agency helped apprehend the suspects and five were taken into custody. Stan Loghina, 45 years old, of Anaheim; Stoican Zelanda, 41 years old, of Anaheim; Mariana Slatineanu, 29 years old, of San Leandro; Stefan Poiana, 18 years old, of Westminster, and a juvenile were all arrested for theft and conspiracy to commit a crime. The adults were booked into jail, and the juvenile was booked into juvenile hall.
